Nursery & KG
Based in our new purpose built school in the
6th October City we have KG, Primary,
Preparatory and Secondary sections.
Nursery,
Transition and Kindergarten

Children that enter Manor House will
enter the Nursery at 3 years, Transition at
3.6 months or KG at 4 and 5 years. We
currently have one Nursery class, one
Transition class, followed by five Kg 1
classes and five Kg2 classes.
• The Program - General Approach to Education
It is a proven fact that children learn more
as a result of playing and
hands-on experience rather than more formal,
traditional and conventional methods of
teaching. Learning begins at birth and
accelerates during the first 6 years. It is
therefore important that they receive the
skills and knowledge that they require to go
forward into formal education.
Children who are given a sense of
responsibility, begin to feel that they are
part of a group and as a result tend to have
less behavioral problems. The classroom
should be a happy place where children learn
through project work and freedom of choice,
without competition. Here a child’s social
skills should be re-enforced and he/she
should learn to be helpful and be respectful
to others.
During the early years the child’s motor
skills are developed and this is done
through physical exercise, art and craft
work and coloring and tracing which then
leads to free hand writing. It is also our
aim to develop the level of spoken English
to a fluency level whereby the children are
acquiring language naturally by being
immersed in natural speech whilst engaging
in all the activities of the day.
- Classrooms

Each classroom is light and airy. There
are activities that the child can choose
from during free play periods. We have
approx 25 children per class and the Class
Teacher is supported by an Assistant
Teacher. We try to ensure that English is
used at all times with the exception of the
Arabic subjects.
The aim of the Class Teacher is to provide
the child with a fluent level of English in
order for them to attain a good base for
their future school life.
- Activity Rooms
Besides the child’s own class, we also
have two Activity Rooms, one of which
doubles as a dining room for the Nursery and
Transition classes. In these activity rooms,
the child is encouraged to learn through
hands on experience and through play.
- Music Room
Children are able to express themselves
through song and dance. This encourages the
growth of language skills as well the
gaining of confidence.

- Gardens
We have two KG gardens, one of which is
used for breaks and games and the other is
used for games only.
- Tennis
We have a professional team of tennis
coaches that encourage any child that shows
the potential to develop his or her skills
further. This can often be seen at an early
age.
- Computer Room

Children from KG 2 enter this room which
has fifteen computers and they are linked
into a tailor made plan suitable for their
age.
- Theatre
Once the children have the confidence to
perform, this is encouraged through parties
for parents for special occasions.
